Applications of PE Protection Film

The production process of PE protection film encompasses multiple stages, with several methods available for forming PE protection films, including casting, extrusion, and blow molding, which are relatively common. The production process can be further subdivided into blow film, coating, printing, inspection, rewinding, slitting, and packaging. This article will provide a detailed introduction to the PE protection film production steps and its applications in various industries.

The Production Process of PE Protection Film

  • Blow film: Blow molding film involves melting and plasticizing plastic in an extruder, extruding it into a tube through an annular die, and then inflating and cooling it with compressed air to form the film.

  • Coating: Depending on the specifications and applicable products of the PE protection film, the adhesive is prepared, and then it is evenly coated onto the substrate using a professional coating machine.

  • Printing: Gravure printing machines immerse the printing plate in the ink tank, remove the ink from the non-engraved parts with a blade, and then transfer the ink onto the substrate through an impression roller.

  • Inspection: Professional quality inspectors carry out quality inspections during the mixing, blow film, printing, and coating stages of PE protection film production.

  • Rewinding: Semi-finished and finished products are rewound on the inspection machine. If the sensor feedback indicates that there are discrepancies between the sample pattern and the standard pattern input into the computer in terms of shape, size, or color exceeding a certain range, the inspection machine will automatically stop to allow for correction. The inspection process reduces waste in subsequent stages and improves product quality.

  • Packaging: The finished PE protection film products, after inspection and slitting, are transported to the packaging machine for professional packaging.

Applications of PE Protection Film in Various Industries

The biggest advantage of PE protection film is that it protects the product from contamination, corrosion, and scratches during production, processing, transportation, storage, and usage, maintaining the original smooth and shiny surface, thereby improving product quality and market competitiveness. Below are some applications of PE protection film in various industries:

  • Hardware Industry: Computer cases, galvanized sheet stamping, aluminum sheets, stainless steel sheets, titanium alloy sheets, plastic steel sheets, glass sheets, solar cell sheets, etc.

  • Optoelectronics Industry: LCD displays, backlight panels, cold light films, membrane switches, mobile phone screens, etc.

  • Plastics Industry: ABS, PP injection products, PVC sheets, acrylic sheets, instruments, plastic lenses, painted surface protection, etc.

  • Printing Industry: Surface protection for printed nameplates of PVC, PC sheets, aluminum sheets, films, etc.

  • Wire and Cable Industry: Protection of copper wire on spools, semi-finished products, finished products, and coiled products to effectively prevent dust pollution and provide anti-oxidation and anti-fouling functions.

  • Electronics Industry: Generally used to protect finished and semi-finished products during production to prevent scratches and damage on the assembly line.

  • Mobile Digital Industry: Mobile phone screen protectors, also known as mobile beauty films or mobile protective films, are cold-applied films used to protect the body and screen of mobile phones.
